Update

It's been some time since I posted, sooo here a few words to update what the Worcester Pen Company has been up too.We had a good week-end at Coventry Transport Museum with a very busy Saturday, even though the weather was awful.
Sunday was a little more slow but we sold more fountain pens on the Sunday compared to Saturday. A lot of folks were looking at the pens and taking business cards which I hope will lead to follow on orders.
Craft fairs always amaze me as I wasn't expecting too much from the pen buying public in Coventry, but fair play to the good people of Coventry,it seems they are very keen pen users. The fair was very well organised and we'll return to this show, as we had two good days and it's not too far for the Worcester Pen Company "road show" to travel.

Saturday 21st November saw us at the Hanger One craft show at Sywell aerodrome. We were invited to attend this show by the organisers and I'm glad we went. We had our best show of the year in terms of trading (apart from specialist pen shows). The show was all hand-made items and just the right balance of stalls for the customers. The organisation of the fair was very good. It was two very busy days for the Worcester Pen Company, and we nearly ran out of stock on the Sunday.I have been busy for the past few days making more pens to replenish what has been sold....
I've posted a picture of the stand before the show opened on the Saturday morning.See if you can spot my cup of coffee!!!!

On a parting note, I had a fruitful meeting with another retailer who may be stocking pens made by the Worcester Pen Company.I will keep you informed with this news, so stay tuned.

Build up to Christmas

Just a few words to let everyone know where we can be found at various gift shows around and about before Christmas.

Worcester Pen Company will be at the Christmas fair held at Coventry Transport Museum, Millenium Place, Hales Street, Coventry, West Midlands,CV1 1JD on 14th & 15th November 2009.We were at the fair at the Festival of Transport organised by the Museum last September, and we are looking forward to meeting and greeting customers old and new at the Christmas fair.

The following weekend 21st & 22nd November 2009, Worcester Pen Company is at the November fair at Hangar One Sywell, Northamptonshire NN6 0BN.This is a very popular fair with a large variety of stalls selling hand-crafted items. We are very excited with the prospect of taking part in this fair as we were specially invited by the fair organisers (Pennine Fairs)

Sunday December 6th 2009 we return to the Reebok stadium, home of the mighty Bolton Wanderers football club.Judging by our past experaince it will be a large and very busy fair for Christmas. We always enjoy our visits to the Reebok because of the great atmosphere at the fairs.

Northern Pen Show

Well me and the other half had a very busy day at the Northern Pen Show on 26 April
We drove up to and stayed in central Preston on Saturday.Hotel was very poor considering we have stayed in their other hotels around the UK.However we ventured out early Sunday morning and arrived in Lytham and found the hotel where the show was taking place.
The show was busier than last year, and it was a real pleasure to meet up with one or two old friends from the pen world.
Trading was very good once again for the Worcester Pen Company and we generated a lot of interest.
We look forward to our next pen show in Lichfield on Sunday 14 June

First Blog Entry

Oh well here we go then, the first entry into the mighty Worcester Pen Company blog.I'm not sure if anyone will want to read the ravings of a lunatic pen maker but I suppose I will have to make a start somewhere.
Nice to see RogerB on the Fountain pen network is praising the Worcester Pen Company and the Sentinel fountain pen with it's "butter smooth nib" (RogerB's words) another satisfied customer.
I'm busy in the studio workshop at the moment as I'm trying to get as much stock completed to take with me to the gift show at the Sunday Times Oxford literary Festival next Sunday April 5th.It will be interesting to see how Worcester Pen Company performs at a more up-market show.Especially in these economic climes.I wonder if I'll sell more fountain pens compared to ball pens.Do book fans use fountain pens? I hope they do.
A lot more preperation for a week or two until the nice Northern Pen Show at Lytham-St.Annes, on 26 April.I'm looking forward to this very friendly show.I will be staying overnight in Lancashire, before going on to the show.It will be good to meet up with Alan Lloyd and the usual pen crowd.Hopefully Worcester Pen Company will have a good pen show, and perhaps have even better sales then last year. Worcester Pen Company is donating a Regal fountain pen to the winner of the childrens hand-writing contest.I wonder what colour and style the winner will choose?
